Some clients are unable or unwilling to participate in a twelve step recovery program

like Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous.

TWELVE-STEP RECOVERY IS NOT THE ONLY ANSWER.

If recovery coaching is not the right method for you, there are many other options available.

Below are some recovery resources available to all men and women.

Treatment Resources

Recovery Support Services help people enter into and navigate systems of care, remove barriers to recovery, stay engaged in the recovery process, and live full lives in communities of their choice.

Recovery Support Services may be provided before, during, or after clinical treatment or may be provided to individuals who are not in treatment but seek support services. These services, provided by professionals and peers, are delivered through a variety of community and faith-based groups, treatment providers, schools, and other specialized services.

Drug treatment is intended to help addicted individuals stop compulsive drug seeking and use. Treatment can occur in a variety of settings, take many different forms, and last for different lengths of time. Because drug addiction is typically a chronic disorder characterized by occasional relapses, a short-term, one-time treatment is usually not sufficient. For many, treatment is a long-term process that involves multiple interventions and regular monitoring.

Life Changing

An effective intervention for life-changing recovery is to help others.  When we want to feel good about ourselves and our life we have to take good actions.  To be esteemed by others we have to perform esteemable acts, and so on.

The Sober Recovery Journey supports local efforts to do for others and offer a hand up instead of a hand out.  We encourage our clients to put themselves in postions to do for others so they can feel like they are letting go of selfish behaviors, so that they can begin to forgive themselves and prepare for others to forgive them.

A really great way to get plugged in to local needs is to visit the Hands On Nashville website.  It provides tools to quickly and easily find a volunteer project that fits one's particular physical ability, time and date availibility, location around the city and even specifics like, "For Children" projects and speciality projects!
